By resolution
| Resolution | Limiting part | Severity | Verdict |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1080p | GPU | 11% | balanced |
| 1440p | GPU | 19% | balanced |
| 4K | GPU | 37% | GPU-bound (normal) |
The RX 7700 XT is the limiting part at every resolution, which is the healthy direction, and the gap is small enough that neither part is wasted. Upgrade the GPU first when you want more frames.

Power supply
The RX 7700 XT measured 228 W average while gaming (285 W highest 20 ms spike, TechPowerUp). With the Ryzen 7 5800X3D at its TDP of 105 W and about 75 W for the rest of the system, the sustained load is about 408 W. A 750 W unit is the safe choice; a good-quality 650 W unit also covers the measured draw. Details on the RX 7700 XT PSU page or try other pairs in the PSU calculator.
